6 Major Production Techniques of Gift Box

Different from the traditional boxes, self-service experiential gift box brings a series of exquisite comfort and service with great experience. It is usually small and exquisite with a nice card or optional manual in the box, representing tens of merchants and their service.

Gift box manufacturing techniques:

1. Design

Gift box is designed according to the requirement, culture, features and so on.

2. Sample making

Make the sample based on the drawing. The gift boxes at present pay attention to beautiful appearance, so there are various colors in samples. Usually, a kind of gift box doesn't only have four basic colors but also several spot colors, such as gold and silver.

3. Choose paperboard

General gift boxes are made of hardboard or cardboard with 3mm-6mm thickness for manual mounting and adhesion molding.

4. Print

The gift box only adopts printing wrapper. Back up paper will not be applied in printing, most of which are just for dyeing. Because the gift box is the outer packaging box, printing requires high level of technology, avoiding color differences, ink spots, rotten plates and other shortcomings that affect the aesthetics.

5. Surface treatment

The wrapping paper of the gift box usually needs surface treatment which usually are gloss lamination, matt PP lamination, gloss-UV, gloss varnish and matt oil.

6. Mounting

Usually printed matter is gluing after mounting, but only gift box is mounted after gluing. One is to avoid scratching wrapper, another is to get overall aesthetics.
